Are Work-Related Stressors Impacting Your Overall Quality Of Life?

Is career dissatisfaction contributing to anxiety, overwhelm, and burnout?

Do you experience a need to be “perfect”—particularly when it comes to your work performance?

Has it become increasingly difficult for you to “unplug” outside of working hours?

Are you frustrated by workplace dynamics, roadblocks, or expectations that are making you unsure of what to do next?

For many of us, work takes up a substantial portion of our daily lives. With so much pressure on us to perform and make a living, it makes sense that career stress and imbalance are at the root of many relational and mental health issues. If left unmanaged, work stress can overpower our concentration, generate physical discomfort, and cause us to question our motivation and sense of purpose.

Counselling offers you an opportunity to trace career stress to its core, helping you peel back the beliefs and expectations that are causing you to feel stuck and dissatisfied. As we collaborate to create more space in your life for career satisfaction and work-life balance, counselling can help you escape the cycle of emotional overwhelm and burnout.

Most Of Us Will Encounter Career-Related Stress In Our Lives

Our society places so much pressure on us to be constantly productive and growing in our careers. Whether we are juggling familial/cultural expectations, navigating toxic workplace dynamics, or burning the candle at both ends just to keep up with the cost of living, the daily grind is exhausting—even for those of us on a “dream” career path. There are often many unrealistic work-related expectations that lead to anxiety and a harsh inner critic.

Counsellors are trained to offer a perspective that can help you determine how you want to engage with your career. Through building your skills in awareness and stress management, counselling challenges the perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and burnout that are making you feel stuck and dissatisfied in your career.

My online counselling services are well-suited to those struggling in any aspect of their careers, including clients who want to address how their work interferes with their relationships, self-care, and overall quality of life. Using a solution-focused approach that centers your strengths and goals, we will work to build an empowering, manageable relationship with your work.

What To Expect

The counselling intake may involve a few assessments to help us determine your professional goals and ideal work-life relationship. As we better understand your unique communication style and values, we can begin to create small but impactful shifts in your self-image, particularly as it involves your work. Along the way, you will learn mindfulness and regulation skills to manage stress in the moment.

Through creating actionable goals—whether they involve setting boundaries, striking a healthier work-life balance, or taking steps toward that next role or promotion—career counselling is an investment in yourself and your future. In addition to enhancing your career-related goals and skills, this process will allow you to foster self-compassion, more satisfying relationships, and an overall better quality of life.

Support Can Make All The Difference In Your Career

Many professionals experience feelings of stress, burnout, and overwhelm no matter where they are in their careers, but change is possible. As you develop clarity and a path forward during the counselling process, you can achieve balance, security, and a more empowering relationship with your work.

Still Unsure If Career Counselling Is Right For You?

I am already juggling so much with my job—I am worried I will not be able to make time for counselling.

I know that for many working professionals, the idea of adding weekly counselling sessions sounds like yet another stressful obligation. However, I encourage you to view therapy as time that is entirely focused on you, individualised in a way that will create more space and increased stress tolerance in your life. This time is truly yours in that our sessions can be scheduled weekly, biweekly, or at a pace that works for you. Plus, my counselling services are done entirely online to accommodate the schedules of the busy professionals I work with.

As a counsellor, I am not here to add more stress but rather support you in the process of creating a manageable, actionable treatment plan that aligns with your career goals.

Talking to a counsellor is just going to make me feel worse.

I know that you might think that not discussing your stress is the best way to feel better. But the truth is that the more you avoid what is going on beneath the surface, the more you get stuck in the mindset that you lack support or that your pain does not matter. This gives your stress and anxiety more power over your life.

Therapists understand that this process can be overwhelming, which is why we are trained to handle your concerns with care and move at a pace that feels comfortable. As we enhance your stress management skills and challenge unhelpful narratives, we can work to establish a peaceful path forward that honours your goals and values.

Once I start going to counselling, I will become reliant on it.

I aim to create a safe counselling environment where you can experience more independence, clarity, and control on the path to self-actualisation. Therapy offers you practical strategies that you can incorporate into your everyday life, ultimately decreasing the need for treatment.

Regularly checking in to see how you feel about your progress, I want to create an empowering career counselling experience that can help you taper off sessions if and when you are ready.
